Sketches on the GO
I haven't updated in a while; mainly 'cause I've been busy... but mostly lazy. Work is tiring and takes up most of the day but I'm slowly adjusting to everything. I particularly enjoy the commute to work.. sounds crazy doesn't it? 'Takes me about 1 hour to get to Toronto from where I live; thats driving(10mins), train(25mins) and walking(20mins). Here are some sketches I drew while riding the Go-Train to and from work.
Some of these sketches were drawn on the bus, train, subway, greyhound and at terminals. Its kinda fun drawing ppl and trying not to get caught. =)

New Venture is Going Up in the Air
After a year of living in Ottawa, working on Carl Squared I'm now returning to my hometown. Next week I'll be starting on Iggy Arbuckle but right now I'm enjoying a lil' time off. I'm excited to be here; my brother and I have a place to ourselves, I'm driving my car again and all this yummy food that I can only get at home! Family and friends and last but def. not least.. my lady Amy! Oh and this year I'm really looking forward to snowboarding.. no doubt. I'll miss the Capital but I still have lots to look forward to. Peace out O-Town and hello Toronto!

Happy Canada's Day
Happy Canada's Day!!!
(Amy and I outside Parliament)
Playing around w/ the new tablet today. I painted a couple of Lois Lanes. The first one doesnt even look like her. Haha.
The second one was suppose to be a charicature but I totally did not push the features enough. Next time...
Pretty trippy how she has two different eye colours.
I finally came around to scanning it so I'm reposting my V for Vendetta painting. Last time I posted a photograph of it that I took w/ a digicam.

Finally Some Fun!
Yesterday was my first time setting foot onto the beach here in Ottawa sinced I moved here last October. My friends, coworkers and I were at Moonie's Bay for Ottawa's dragon boat festival where we had our butts handed to us. We got whooped in our 2 races. Our competition included the RCMP and the Police but really we were racing against time(ourselves) only.. it doesnt really matter who is in your heat.. but we couldn't help but feel intimidated seeing them w/ their big muscles, full gear(uniforms, paddles and life jackets that say police on 'em) doing warm-up exercises and group cheers. All we had were yellow t-shirts w/ a logo of a puffin (its a type of bird!). Goooooo team! I am aching all over from yesterday's paddling, playing volleyball, frisbee and doing kicks and flips at the beach/park. I really shouldn't be complaining. It was a great experience and I had a blast.
Here are some drawings I did on the bus, train and at the beach this weekend.
This week was also Rib Fest here in Ottawa on Sparks street. Sparks is a little street but is always a nice landmark to check out when you're in Ottawa. Oh and so is the market.
A full rack of ribs costs $20, 1/2 rack is $13 and a sandwich(rib meat.. mmm... so good) is $6.
Here's a shot of our crew at our first practice.

Papa's Day Food Outting
My folks took my younger siblings out to dinner for father's day. I wished I could've gone home that weekend but I was too busy w/ work and dragon boat practices. Below are some sketchbook doodles from that weekend. I didn't get to eat w/ my family but I did go out w/ some friends to a nice mexican restaurant by the lake.

Some more Downtown Doodles =)
Here are some more drawings I did in the last couple of days I was downtown here in Toronto.
I watched X-men today! It was alright. I liked it as much as the other ones but they should totally make an awesome fourth installment that'll blow away the orig. 3 and really sum up the story. I really like the x-men. They are super cool.
After the movie I visited some old school friends that work in the animation studios downtown. It was nice seeing ppl again and I am pleased to see that we all have jobs.
Speaking of which, tomorrow I'm going back to Ottawa because animation on Carl Squared season 2 begins on monday.

Downtown Doodles
For the last couple of days I've been bussing downtown to Toronto w/ Amy. While she writes her exams I sit in the study halls and doodle away. I've managed to fill up 10+ pages in my sketchbook and I also busted out the water colour and coloured some of them. Here are some of the drawings I did on the bus/subway and at University of Toronto.
I also met a fellow artist that busted out his sketchbook when he noticed me drawing other people.
After Amy's final exam we celebrated by goin to see the Blue Man Group. What an awesome show... very artistic.
I drew the last one while waiting for the 'freezing' to kick in before the removal of my first wisdom tooth. That chair felt like it was the chair of death!
